The North Unit Irrigation District Board of Directors has reviewed the current weather and water supply conditions for the 2026 season. The Board has set the water release date from Haystack Reservoir for Sunday, April 5. District crews will begin priming the system on Monday, April 6 and will begin releasing water from the Bend Headworks.
Irrigation deliveries to all patrons will begin on Monday, April 13. Allotments are 1.30 acre feet for Deschutes River water rights and .65 acre feet for Crooked River water rights.
In order to ensure system priming is carried out in the most efficient manner, please make sure that all wheel lines, hand lines, equipment, livestock fences and any other items are not on the canal easements. The District is not responsible for damaged items that are left within the District’s easements.
